Athens Sites

The Acropolis – The Acropolis of Athens is the most striking and complete ancient Greek monumental complex still existing in our times. It is situated on a hill that rises in the basin of Athens. Its overall dimensions are approximately 170 by 350m. The hill is rocky and steep on all sides except for the western side, and has an extensive, nearly flat top. Strong fortification walls have surrounded the summit of the Acropolis for more than 3,300 years. A multitude of tours are available to visit the site. Tip – It is best to visit early before the crowds.

Panathenaic Athens Stadium – a classical cultural and touristic monument of Greece and one of the most significant monuments not only for Athens, but for the whole Greece. It is the site that the Olympic flame sets up for its journey to the cities of the Olympic Games, both Winter, Summer and Youth and the only stadium in the world to be made entirely of marble.

The Acropolis Museum – an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the rock and on its feet, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. It also lies on the archaeological site of Makrygianni and the ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens. Nearly 4,000 objects are exhibited over an area of 14,000 square meter
